Artist In Residence

The Mackie Lake House Artist-in-Residence Program provides Canadian artists with a unique opportunity for solitude, creativity, and inspiration.

About the Program

The Mackie Lake House Foundation Artist-in-Residence Program is a collaborative partnership between Mackie Lake House Foundation and Vernon Public Art Gallery (VPAG). The Artist-in-Residence Program is made possible through the generosity of Patrick (Paddy) Fylton Mackie who established and funded the Mackie Lake House Foundation. Patrick Mackie was a patron of the arts and a gifted artist in his own right and the Artist-in-Residence Program was established in his memory.

The residency is designed to offer established Canadian artists solitude and time to create. The residency includes a four-week stay at the Historic 1910 Mackie Lake House in Coldstream, BC, an honorarium, and a solo exhibition at the Vernon Public Art Gallery. The exhibition will include working sketches and finished works produced during the residency.
